Description
Jolene Despain grew up at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon in the area where the plans were laid for building the Brighton Chapel on the Brighton Loop. She has lived in Brighton since 1979. Jolene knew many of the people who built the church and has been a member of the branch since moving to Brighton. She compiled the book in this collection, “Memories of Brighton”.
The collection contains historical documents related to the Brighton Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Included in the collection are historical church meeting minutes, land and building appraisals, communication from community and church members, notes for writing the book, a script from the play “Celebration”, and other Brighton church historical documents from 1964 - 2002.
